1100MX BT30 DIY ATC Mechanical CAD Plans

Build your own ATC mechanicals for a fraction of the cost of an OEM ATC. These mechanical drawings are for a direct bolt-on system that works like the OEM ATC. You machine the parts and assemble them yourself, saving thousands of dollars.

How it works

• The ATC is driven in and out pneumatically by an air cylinder, with a proximity sensor referenced at the tool load position.
• Tool carousel/tray rotation is stepper motor driven and also proximity sensor referenced.
• The enclosure door opens and closes by mechanical linkage during the tool load sequence.
• Spindle brake: a PSI regulator applies light air pressure through the power drawbar, enough to brake the spindle but not enough to release the tool. A second solenoid bypasses the regulator to apply full pressure when the tool needs to be released. (Spindle brake design included in the plans.)

The main model is set up in a 10-tool format. You can easily change it to 12 tools for PathPilot (conversion parts file included).

File format: Fusion 360 (.f3z), with sheet metal files (.f3d) for the enclosure parts. If you need another file type, please contact us.
