CNC Touch Probe "Raw" Kit

The "RAW" CNC Touch Probe. We offer this probe in a DIY assembly kit. The Raw kit is compact, simple in design but yet rugged, accurate, and repeatable. Not to mention priced reasonably. Like many touch probes on the market, they are basically a simple normally closed switch and designed in a similar fashion. When the stylus makes contact with a surface, it triggers the switch to open, therefore breaking the signal. Also known as a "Passive Probe"

Kit assembly can be achieved in about 20 minutes or less. No complex tools, just common metric hand tools, a 10-25 watt soldering iron for cable connections, all this in a few moments of your time. In its kit form, components are designed to just fit together and work.

Once assembled, there is no extra fluff, just a tool ready to work. We even use this probe to aid in building these kits and all of our other machined offerings. Calibrate by adjusting set screws to steer the stylus tip concentric, easy to service, even easy to get parts, if you have the unexpected oops... I dropped it.

Once the stylus ball is concentric and tool height is set, You are ready to start putting it to work.

• Main Body Diameter - 40mm

• Main body components are machined from 6061 T6 Aluminum.
• Injection molded plastic "STAR" with captive hardware making each part identical in production.
• Production PCB with precision contact Ball bearings and anti-rotation lobes.
• Anti-rotation Star pin guide.
• All Stainless-steel screw hardware.
• 10mm Stud for mounting in your preferred gauge tool holder or collet system.
• Stainless-steel Bobbin adjuster.
• The included Stylus is an in-house built M4 thread 3mm OD shaft with 4mm ball. (Probe length ball center to mount flat 50mm+/- 0.5)
• Cable gland to reduce cable pull strain
• 7 feet of 2 conductor cable.

Din 5 Connector sold separately and are commonly used on Tormach brand machines.
